February 25, 2009—IFC, the World Bank, the European Commission, and the European Investment Bank will jointly host a regional forum on the Investment Climate in the Southern Mediterranean Region and the Middle East in Rabat, Morocco, on March 4 and 5, 2009.
The event will bring together key stakeholders in investment climate reform from across the region to share global best practice and outline a path to deepen reforms for a more favorable regional investment climate. Discussion topics will include:
- Improving the legal and regulatory framework for businesses
- Strengthening access to finance
- Increasing access to land
- Designing effective industrial policy
Participants will include government officials, private sector representatives, international experts in investment climate reform, and other stakeholders from the region.
