Doing Business in China

Doing Business in China 2008 analyzes the ways in which regulations facilitate or constrain business activity in 30 major cities across China. The study captures the ease of doing business by measuring four areas that are central elements of the local business environment: starting a business, registering property, getting credit (creating and registering collateral), and enforcing contracts.

These indicators provide a useful way to compare performance and give the cities surveyed a benchmark on which to build and demonstrate future reforms.
