Structure

The Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) consists of three evaluation units each within a World Bank Group member institution (i.e., IBRD/IDA, IFC, and MIGA). These IEG units are independent from WBG management and report to the Board of Directors of the WBG institutions they evaluate through the Director-General, Evaluation (DGE).

IEG functions and staff are organizationally independent from IFC’s operational and policy departments and decision-making, but IEG staff have unrestricted access to IFC staff and records. The DGE is responsible for the management of IEG's personnel, budget, and work program under the oversight of the Board’s Committee on Development Effectiveness (CODE), and in consultation with the Executive Vice President, IFC (EVP).
