Structure

The Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) consists of three evaluation units each within a World Bank Group member institution (i.e., IBRD/IDA, IFC, and MIGA). These IEG units are independent from WBG management and report to the Board of Directors of the WBG institutions they evaluate through the Director-General, Evaluation (DGE).

IEG-IFC’s functions and staff are organizationally independent from IFC’s operational and policy departments and decision-making, but IEG-IFC staff have unrestricted access to IFC staff and records. The DGE is responsible for the management of IEG-IFC’s personnel, budget, and work program under the oversight of the Board’s Committee on Development Effectiveness (CODE), and in consultation with the Executive Vice President, IFC (EVP).
