With its accumulated knowledge of successes and failures at the project, sector, country, corporate, and global levels, IEG-IFC is ideally positioned to share knowledge and promote learning within IFC- and among IFC's external stakeholders. Learning and accountability are at the core of IEG-IFC’s mission and are the two pillars, upon which its dissemination practices are built. Accountability: IEG-IFC’s evaluation system is designed to ensure that IFC has a sound basis for providing reliable accountability to its shareholders for achievement of its corporate mission in its core investment operations. IEG-IFC’s independent outcome ratings are a primary input for its Annual Review, and they feed into IFC’s corporate, department, and individual scorecards. Some of IEG-IFC’s key dissemination products include: Findings are designed for public disclosure of selected IEG-IFC studies and Annual Reviews. Findings will be produced in the future to summarize larger studies to inform IFC staff and interested parties. Evaluation Briefs are either short stand-alone evaluations or extracts from longer IEG –IFC evaluations. They highlight major issues and analyses through original research or amplification of issues surfaced in larger reports. Annual Review of IFC's Evaluation Findings: Each year, IEG-IFC presents its findings from the most recent three years performance patterns in IFC project evaluations. Going forward, IEG-IFC will present more findings related to IFC’s activities in technical assistance and advisory services. This Evaluation helps IFC improve its effectiveness in promoting sustainable private sector investment in developing countries, helping to reduce poverty and improve people’s lives. Seminar Series: IEG-IFC’s presentations on its evaluation system and findings to IFC’s Board and IFC staff are an integral part of its dissemination activities. They mainstream evaluation results into operations with the purpose of promoting learning and accountability within the Corporation and improving IFC’s operational effectiveness and the outcomes of clients and beneficiaries.
