Technical Partners

IFC is working with two technical partners - Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CHMC) and Développement International Desjardins (DID) to support the activities of the SECO IFC Ghana Primary Mortgage Market Initiative. CMHC and DID Consortium have formed a consortium comprising a strong international and local team to provide on-site and punctual expertise over the 27 month duration of the GPMMI project.

The CMHC/DID Consortium will provide:

• An on-site Program Manager to guide delivery of capacity building for mortgage lending institutions and improvements to the external environment for mortgage lending
• Project management (DID)
• Subject matter experts from CMHC in mortgage securitization, appraisal, performance measurement of mortgage operations
• Subject matter experts from DID in legal aspects of mortgage markets and training in origination
• Local experts in mortgage law
• International consultants in mortgage lending (HDFC India)

The CMHC/DID Consortium has supported other IFC projects in housing finance: the Russia Mortgage Market Development Project, the Housing Finance Gap Analysis in Francophone Sub-Sarahan Africa and the Burkina Faso Housing Finance Market Study. CMHC assisted the Pakistan Mortgage Market Development Project.
