IFC, DID Train Mortgage Providers
The SECO IFC Ghana Primary Mortgage Market Initiative, in conjunction with Developpement International Desjardins (DID) organised training workshops for five financial institutions on how to run successful mortgage operations. The training, based on IFC's mortgage toolkit, focused on standardization, risk management and recovery. It was attended by managers and loans officers from the five financial institutions participating in the SECO IFC Ghana Primary Mortgage Market Initiative.

Meeting with World Bank President

September 2007: African Union Housing Association Meets
SECO IFC Ghana Primary Mortgage Market Initiative participated in the the African Union and Housing Finance (AUHF) Conference, which took place September 17-21, 2007 in Accra. The conference attracted 150 participants, 75 of whom were local financial institution representatives. Fifteen other African countries were represented at the conference.

The event provided an opportunity for the program to present its activities to stakeholders.

During the same week, the program in collaboration with the Ghana Housing Finance Association held a three day housing finance training program on “Loan Origination and Servicing in Effective Housing Finance Management”.
