Irina Gordeladze Deputy Project Manager, Corporate Governance Irina graduated from the international law department of Tbilisi State University. Following her studies in Georgia, she received an LL.M. degree (with Excellence) from the University of Florida, where she was a member of the Florida International Law Journal. Irina has also studied at Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg, Germany. Prior to joining the IFC, Irina worked in the Washington DC office of Baker & McKenzie, a major US law firm, on AES Telasi’s privatization project of the energy sector (sponsored by the World Bank), as head of AES Telasi’s legal department and as a partner in a Georgian law firm. As Deputy Project Manager, Irina is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Project’s corporate governance initiative. Avto Svanidze Legal Consultant, Corporate Governance Avto graduated from the international law department of Tbilisi State University. Following his studies in Georgia, Avto received an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge, England. He lectures on international banking & finance law at Gr. Robakidze University in Tbilsi. Avto has edited a collection of cases of the European Court of Human Rights. Avto represents the Project on the Task Force focusing on revisions to Georgia’s corporate and securities laws. He also frequently lectures at the Project’s seminars and writes for the Project’s corporate governance bulletin and for outside journals. Irakli Ghvaladze Legal Consultant, Corporate Governance Irakli graduated from the law department of Tbilisi State University, where he is presently a PH.D. candidate in civil law. He worked for six years at the Ministry of State Property Management and served as the head of its Legal Department. In that capacity, Irakli principally worked on the privatization of Georgia’s state companies. Before joining the IFC, Irakli also worked at the Center for Enterprise Restructurings and Management Assistance (CERMA), which provided technical assistance to improve the management of Georgian companies, at Sibley International, a US AID-funded program providing management training, and as a Partner at Mediator Consulting, a Georgian law firm. Irakli has a broad experience working with Georgian companies and developing practical legal solutions to their problems. Although Irakli often lectures at the Project’s seminars, he principally focuses on the Project’s consultations with individual companies and working with the Project’s pilot companies. Galina Alagardova Financial Analyst, Corporate Governance Galina has a degree in Engineering from Georgian Technical University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the Georgian-American Institute of Public Administration (GIPA). Following her studies in Georgia, Galina received a degree in Financial Management from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands. Galina is certified by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (based in Glasgow, Scotland) as a Chartered Certified Accountant and is a full member of the Association. Before joining the IFC, Galina was an auditor at the Moscow office of KPMG. Before working at KPMG, she worked at Shorebank Advisory Services, a financial advisor to Georgian banks, and as a consultant at the Center of Enterprise Restructuring and Management Assistance (CERMA). Galina also lectures at the Black Sea University on financial accounting and auditing. Galina is the financial expert of the Project’s corporate governance initiative. She lectures in the Project's seminars, writes on financial topics, is active in legislative reform and works with companies on issues of financial disclosure. LEASING Levan Jioshvili Deputy Project Manager, Leasing Levan holds a Master of Business Administration, (MBA), in finance from Leeds University Business School in England. His business experience includes, Salomon Brothers International Limited (London), GCG Consulting and Ernst &Young, Tbilisi, Georgia. At E&Y, Levan was a financial analyst, helping Georgian companies secure debt and equity financing, and managed technical assistance projects in various sectors of the economy. As Deputy Manager, he is responsible for training, reviewing lease legislation, and lease accounting. Sandro Amashukeli Legal Consultant, Leasing Sandro is a certified lawyer. Before joining IFC he was the General Tax and Legal Counselor at Amashukeli/Leshkasheli. His experience includes being a tax lawyer at KPMG Consulting (now Bearing Point), and at Sibley International Corp. Sandro worked on the finance legislation “Georgia Law on Financial Lease Agreement”. He is currently reviewing amendments to the legislation and tax regulations. SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISE SURVEY Irina Kokia, Small and Medium Enterprise, Consultant Irina has masters degrees from Midwestern State University in the US and the Georgian-American Institute of Public Administration, in Georgia and an undergraduate degree from Tbilisi State University. Prior to joining the Project Irina worked as a financial analyst at a USAID Bank Supervision Project and was a financial analyst intern at a US brokerage company. Irina has additional experience as a senior economist in Georgian companies. PROJECT STAFF Rati Japaridze Operations Analyst / Research Coordinator Rati graduated from Columbia University in New York where he received his master’s degree in International Relations with a major in International Finance. His undergraduate degree in Economics is from Tbilisi State University. As well as his position with IFC, he lectures on Basics of Corporate Finances at Tbilisi State University. As Operations Analyst, his primary duties include managing all special projects, coordinating and conducting research for Project staff and maintaining the Project’s website. Tamar Razmadze Public Relation Specialist Tamar received a master's degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from the European School of Management. Her experience includes journalism, marketing, public relations and a business consultant. At present she lectures at the European School of Management (ESM) in marketing and public relations. Prior to joining the Project, Tamar was employed at the Center of Enterprise Restructuring and Management Assistance (CERMA), mostly in advertising and media fields. Her duties include promoting the Project to the media, writing and developing Project materials and writing and editing Project publications.
Accountant-analyst Mendi is responsible for all accounting activities, financial statements, payment of accounts and budgeting. Mendi previously worked at the Georgian Ministry of Finance and International Rescue Committee (IRC). She is a student of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Mendi graduated from the Georgian-American Institute of Public Administration (GIPA) with a master's degree in Public Administration. Eliso Sulukhia Team Assistant Eliso was a World Bank employee before joining IFC as team assistant. At present she is studying at the Georgian-American Institute of Public Administration (GIPA). Irakli Kereselidze Driver Irakli had three years experience at the World Bank, prior to joining the IFC. Irakli is a historian by training. |
