This project responds to the demand from development institutions and women’s organizations for more research on the importance of women’s entrepreneurship for private sector development. It aims to equip existing institutions in Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates with up-to-date research tools and networks to demonstrate the contribution of women-owned enterprises to economic growth. Implemented in partnership with the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR), the regional capacity-building initiative uses IFC GEM survey methodology to promote the ability of both businesswomen's associations and research centers to better serve the needs of women business owners, and to better advocate for their interests.
