Young Entrepreneurs Start-Up Program (YES), an initiative under Indonesia Business Links (IBL), was created to address the issue of youth unemployment in Indonesia. The YES program focuses on empowering youth entrepreneurs and providing them with the tools, support and capital necessary to forge a sustainable and ethical business sector in Indonesia.

By presenting skills development and business enhancement opportunities, through workshops, trainings, and access to capital, YES hopes to impart good business practices and ethical business standards for Indonesian youth. The initiative has also worked to foster entrepreneurial spirit, by hosting business plan competitions in which participants present their business ventures and compete for grant capital. In addition, they provide technical assistance and support, filling the gaps in business development services and providing positive role models.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), has provided a technical assistance grant to support the following components of the YES Program:
    • Funding support for the program’s business plan competition grants.
    • Technical assistance to an additional 6 youth-owned businesses, and funding and business development services for 5 new businesses owned and managed by youth.
    • Technical assistance to the YES Program including the development of a comprehensive M&E program and long-term sustainability plan for the Program to provide the foundation for increased impact and business support.
