Our ProjectsLighting AfricaLighting Africa is joint IFC-IBRD project aimed at mobilizing in large scale the private sector scale to increase access to modern energy services in Africa. The project will catalyze and support African and international companies in commercializing a range of affordable and modern off-lighting products to the segments of the African population, such as households or small businesses, that currently can access only fuels for lighting. Over 350 organizations and individuals from over 45 countries have taken part in the project, which will be implemented in up to 10 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
