What we do

Innovation and incubation of projects that are biodiversity-conservation oriented is at our center stage. We strive to develop new products, business models and financial instruments related to biodiversity and nature-based market businesses. Because most of the biodiversity program is financed from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) one of our program pillars is the one for actively engaging the private sector in contributing to the achievement of objectives of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

IFC works closely with individual clients to help them go beyond compliance to a set of minimum standards and explore more rewarding practices that benefit both biodiversity and their bottom lines.
