Komodo Collaborative Management Initiative (Komodo Project)The aim is to enhance the limited capacity of the Park Authority to protect the threatened resources and to try and make Komodo park financially self-sustaining. The project is basing its conservation strategy on an adaptive management approach that enable project activities and planning to respond to the changing threats to this unique terrestrial and marine biodiversity. The project is building up incentives such community grant fund and other methods of supporting family-based businesses alongside enforcement of park regulations. The idea is to encourage the community to switch from the current destructive fishing practices to sustainable livelihood based on a rational utilization of available resources.
