Since Poland joined IFC in 1987, IFC has invested $279 million from its own account and syndicated $67 million from other banks. IFC has provided financing for 32 projects in a wide range of sectors. In addition, IFC has provided $200 million to finance interregional projects that covered several countries in Eastern Europe including Poland.
Advisory Services

IFC's Changing Role
IFC’s role in Poland is changing in light of the country’s accession to the European Union and the growing availability of private financing. IFC will focus on the regions, sectors, and projects where IFC’s developmental role is crucial and for which private financing remains limited, emphasizing socially and environmentally sensitive sectors.
