IFC in Montenegro


The Republic of Montenegro became the newest member of IFC on January 18, 2007. Finance Minister Igor Luksic signed the articles of agreement, making his country IFC’s 179th member.

Montenegro has also become a member of other institutions of the World Bank Group: the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Development Association, and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

IFC’s members collectively determine IFC’s policies, and approve the Corporation's investments and advisory services.

In July 2005, IFC opened the new facility to provide advisory services in Southern Europe. IFC is currently developing three advisory projects in Montenegro. More…
