IFC aims to contribute to Timor-Leste’s development through an advisory services program focusing on reforms of the business enabling environment and managing effective public-private dialogue.
The IFC-supported Better Business Initiative, a structured dialogue forum between the private and public sector seeks to promote a results-driven dialogue and effective reforms to improve the business environment and foster local and foreign investment. IFC also supports the Government of Timor-Leste through doing business reform advisory work, with particular emphasis on business start-up and licensing.
Under IFC’s regional Tourism Access to Market program, IFC, together with partners, launched an online marketing and booking system for Timor-Leste that will connect local tourism enterprises with the global travel market. To further enable a sustainable development of the tourism sector IFC supports the Government in its ambition to draft a new tourism law.
