PENSA programs are geared toward long lasting results and sustainability. As a technical assistance facility, PENSA operates on commercial principles and charges appropriate fees to cover costs. The core programs are distributed across five offices: Denpasar, which also serves as headquarters, Jakarta, Balikpapan, Surabaya and Makassar. PENSA’s programs concentrate on several key areas where local comparative advantage can be converted into international competitive advantage:
Sustainable Supply Chain Linkages: This program is creating business opportunities in the forestry & furniture, tourism and fisheries sectors by improving environmental management and encouraging sustainability.
Business Enabling Environment: The BEE program works with local governments, business associations, and other stakeholders to improve the investment climate and competitive growth opportunities for small and medium sized enterprises in Indonesia.
Oil, Gas and Mining Industry Linkages: PENSA's Oil, Gas and Mining Industry Linkages program focuses on institutionalizing links between oil, gas and mining companies and local small and medium enterprises. It also provides strategic advice on stakeholders' issues, and addresses environment issues related to industry impact on the socio-economic environment and development of local businesses.
Agribusiness Linkages: This program focuses on improving the livelihoods of farming and coastal communities by providing technical assistance in sub-sectors where Eastern Indonesia has long-term comparative advantages. Work is being conducted in the maize and poultry, cocoa and seaweed sub-sectors.
