IFC's support for the private sector is tailored in Cambodia to meet the needs of its small, but promising private sector. Businesses and entrepreneurs are at the forefront of efforts to translate a more open economy into better lives for Cambodians. Yet governance, poverty, and other considerable challenges remain significant.
IFC has a strong presence in Cambodia, with efforts led by the Mekong Private Sector Development Facility (MPDF). It supports improvements in the business environment and offers advice to small and medium enterprises on an ongoing basis. Direct investments by IFC in private sector projects are an important part of our support. IFC also coordinates the Private Sector Forum to support dialogue between business and the government.
