Measuring throughout the Project Cycle

For all IFC's investments we specify development results expectations with time-bound targets upfront, using standard indicators. We then track whether the project is meeting these expectations continuously throughout the project life and assess its overall development outcome and its performance within each of the four performance components in the Development Outcome Tracking System (DOTS).

Our framework.
Our system.

IFC only invests in a project where we have a special role to play and can offer a particular contribution to the project such as: financing, expertise, or services that other private sector players cannot or do not provide. Our strategic priorities are focused on areas in which IFC can maximize its contribution and development impact. We assess development impact at every point in the project cycle.
