IFC's new Development Outcome Tracking System (DOTS) allows us to track the results of our activities continuously, analyze our results, and report on how successful we are at delivering on our mission.
- Keeping tabs on how things are going at the project level: Tracking the results of each project through its life cycle allows us to address any problems and improve our results as we go along.
- Influencing strategy: Comprehensive results across sectors or regions allow us to analyze our performance and formulate strategy to enhance the development impact of future projects.
- Setting the right incentives: Development results inform IFC’s corporate incentive systems at the personal, departmental, and corporate level.
- Being accountable for our work: External reporting of IFC's effectiveness is an essential part of our accountability as a development institution.
