Sustainable Energy

IFC actively participates in the growing market for financing private power generation using grid-connected renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, hydropower, biomass and geothermal. Such projects typically require mobilization of both equity and debt financing as well as a suite of advisory services aimed at unlocking the potential of emerging opportunities in developing countries. In addition, IFC is actively engaged in realizing energy efficiency potential in power generation, transmission and distribution, industrial applications, and end-use.
