Biography

Julian Le Grand is the Senior Policy Adviser to the British Prime Minister on health issues. He is currently on secondment from the London School of Economics, where he is the Richard Titmuss Professor of Social Policy. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine, a Founding Academician of the Academy of Learned Societies for the Social Sciences and a Senior Associate of the Kings Fund.

An economist by training, he is the author, co-author or editor of sixteen books and over a hundred articles and book chapters on economics, social policy and public policy. He has also acted as an adviser and consultant to the World Bank, the European Commission, the World Health Organisation, HM Treasury and other UK Government departments.
