Biography

Emmett Moriarty is the IFC’s Senior Health Sector Specialist. He advises IFC’s management on the key commercial aspects of our investments in the health sector worldwide – including business development, investment appraisal and portfolio management. Occasionally Emmett takes a seat on the boards of IFC investee companies.

Emmett’s background is in healthcare Program Management and Performance Improvement. He has worked with the boards of major healthcare organizations in more than 30 countries.

Prior to joining IFC in 2003, Emmett worked for the healthcare consulting practices of Deloitte and KPMG. Most recently he led the Performance Improvement practice of KPMG Consulting, the UK’s largest healthcare consultancy. In this role he managed the turnaround of healthcare organizations in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. These ranged from some of the largest private and public hospitals in Europe to a struggling refugee hospital in the Middle East. Emmett has also managed the implementation of major health sector reform programs in Eastern Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.
