Moscow Conference on Corporate Governance and Globalization, May 30-31 2008

On May 30-31, a major Conference on Corporate Governance and Globalization will take place in Moscow, which is organized by Russia's National Council on Corporate Governance (NCCG) with the participation of the World Bank. This will be the first international forum bringing together top members of the next Russian government with policymakers, regulators, business leaders and financial executives. It will address the rise of Russia and other BRICS and emerging markets courtiers, companies and state-owned entities as major players in the global economy, and the new challenges for corporate governance and cross-border investment presented by the globalization of the world economy and financial system.

Featured speakers are expected to include top members of the new Russian government, as well as CEOs of leading Russian companies. Confirmed international speakers include some of the most influential voices on corporate governance and globalization issues – former Senator Paul Sarbanes and Congressman Michael Oxley; Gerhard Schroeder, former Chancellor of Germany; Jean Lemierre, president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; William McDonough, former chairman of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and the New York Federal Reserve; Sir David Tweedie, chairman of IASB; Bob Herz, chairman of FASB; Kathleen Casey, SEC Commissioner; and Yang Chao, chairman of China Life.
