The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library (TEEAL)
TEEAL is a full-text and bibliographic CD-ROM library of more than 140 of the world's most important scientific journals in the field of agriculture. It is available well below cost to more than 100 of the lowest-income food-deficit countries, as listed in the 1998-9 World Bank's World Development Report.

Health InterNetwork Access to Research Initiative (HINARI)
HINARI provides free or very low cost online access to the major journals in biomedical and related social sciences to local, non-profit institutions in developing countries. HINARI was launched in January 2002, with some 1,500 journals from 6 major publishers: Blackwell, Elsevier Science, the Harcourt Worldwide STM Group, Wolters Kluwer International Health & Science, Springer Verlag and John Wiley. Twenty-two additional publishers joined in May 2002, bringing the total number of journals to over 2,000. The HINARI offer is currently guaranteed through 2006.

Highwire
Highwire, offered by Stanford University, has a number of free online journals, predominantly medical in nature. Most include back issues older than 12-24 months.
