Launching the first eight case studies yesterday at United States International University (USIU), Trade and Industry assistant minister Zandock Syongo said the information would expose the country's investment environment. Already, Safaricom case study has been taught at the London Business School. The other case studies are on Alfa medical, Firestone, Mabati Rolling Mills, Kenya Airways, Bidco and Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA). The case studies will serve as the basis for practical business education in Africa and in business schools in other parts of the world. The project is jointly funded by International Finance Corporation and USIU at a cost of Sh12 million. The project is among the four in Africa that IFC is funding under the Global School Business Network (GSBN). The others are in Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa. The university's Chancellor, Prof Freida Brown said the GSBN had been expanded by the ministry of trade to three other universities under a different programme, adding that 24 case studies on small and medium enterprises were expected at the end of the year from these institutions.
