In 2007-2009 IFC executes a technical assistance effort which concentrates on the following three objectives:
- provide independent information on the business environment through regular SME Surveys;
- streamline business registration, permit and inspection systems;
- improve SME access to information on regulatory procedures.
To provide the objective information on the business environment the Project continues to conduct business environment surveys, prepare analytical reports on the results and make them public and widely known.
In the frame of the administrative procedures improvement the Project presents the Survey findings to the Government as well as provides recommendations for improvement of business regulations.
To improve SME access to information on regulatory procedures, the Project continues developing and disseminating information on selected regulatory procedures. In addition, the Project continues support of the business information portal BEL.BIZ (www.bel.biz) which was launched
in May 2005 and turned within 2 years of its activities to public-private dialogue platform.
The project is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
