Tools

IFC Against AIDS has developed some tools from the field of experiences and practices in HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and care to guide companies through every step in the process of designing and implementing a program for their workforce. By extending HIV/AIDS programs to their communities, companies can also play an important role in fighting HIV/AIDS along with "traditional" actors such as public health officials and NGOs.

The process can be ensured through a multi step approach, which is outlined in the following table.

Assessing what is already in place is critical in tailoring an AIDS program to the company’s specific needs and in increasing the chances of success. The questionnaire on the company's capabilities is a situation analysis tool designed to collect information so as to assess the company needs when designing an AIDS policy and program.

The formative assessment (PPT) guidelines will help the company in its initial assessment of the target population and contextual environment in order to develop appropriate, effective interventions. These guidelines will also be useful in analyzing the audience to determine who needs the services, who cares about the issues, and how they can be reached.
