| March 15-17 | Global Conference on Housing Finance in Emerging Markets, Washington, DC--jointly organized by the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation, in order to reflect the respective roles played by the governments and the private sector. Experienced practitioners and policy markers will share their views on the evolution and challenges in several countries. Specific sessions will deal with themes such as funding through mortgage securities, mortgage insurance products, the role of specialized lenders, the regulatory framework, construction finance, rental markets, and instruments to expand housing finance for the lower income groups.
